This week's theme: All Alone

Pure Entries blade
  • The theme is that our planet is becoming so industrilized that there is no space for plants and that picture shows the last flower on the planet (in the future). And it is fighting for its life and trying to grow through the ground covered in blocks.

  • i'll explain the guy with his trousers down he thinks hes "ALL ALONE"and people do strange things when there on there own(like pull there trousers down). what he doesnt know is someone is sneaking up on him and hes about to get embarest

  • This is St Ungulant home from Pratchett's "Small Gods".

This is a holy man who lives on a wheel at the end of a pole in the desert.

As St Ungulant is not above a little confort, he has choosen a 3 wheel setup with a small patio for taking the sun in the morning, and a separate privy.

  • An astronaut on an emergency mission to repair a deep space station is suddenly forced backward when his space drill goes too far. His torn tether drifts before him as he helplessly floats back toward the planet. Alone, powerless, all he can do is watch as the station and memories of his life and dreams of the future recede into the cosmic void...

hum... I thought mine would have been put into the "open" section for sure, 'cause I think I did a very similiar post process to x-warrior.

I don't really like the idea of a "pure" render, but I suppose I can understand that it might be more fair and stuff. In the future I'll try to keep it clean, if only for the WC.

Had to go with DreamMaster, I really liked the feel of it. It showed the power of the individual as opposed to the desperation which I liked.

Other favorites:
Bulletdodga
chili (great for a first attempt)
Samir (loved the composition of the scene)

I gave my vote to my dad. He liked GCat's albatross because it's "harmonious and fits with the topic".

From my technical perspective, however, the ocean and lighting may need some work. Specifically, I think the plane representing the ocean is a bit small, giving the appearance that it goes a bit and just stops. A quick fix would be to scale up the plane and reduce the texture size to compensate.

Voted for SamB, but would have voted for BackiZ, if he wouldn't have won the last one

I voted for lemmy, the composition of the simple elements, in my humble opinion, come together to portray such a deep feeling of isolation and melancholy.

Well done lemmy

tatausantos.... nice work man, good style... especially for a n00b

My vote however has to go to samir... Love the feel of that pic, and I think I stopped caring about whether something is open or pure a while back.

Too bad BackiZ was not competing this week. That is one wicked image dude. Only problem is the seams on the barrel. Should have modelled them instead of relying on the bump map.

I went for Samir. Just too good not too.

I'm gonna go with Jack000. It has beautiful dreamlike lighting. Props to Dreammaster, Robertt, Samir, BackIZ for excellent work as well.

Nice variating entry's this week
The seven's I like:
-Blade fot his idea, but can use more textures
-Robertt, your spacesuit is good! but I don't like the planet and the sun.
-Dreammaster, nice colors although I don't get the relation with the topic.
-Marcoscosci, for a blender newbie
-samb is very cool water and scene.
-samir, that composition is well done [!] fits perfect.
-And x-warrior... looks good also....you don't need pp to get a render like that...but still, I like it.

mmmmmmm so......................samb, congrats!
