ive finished the project to my liking at this point in time. im 2 days ahead of schedual! so i guess that means i get to sleep some...

for those who followed my wip: thank you very much, your encouragement and criticisms helped shape the direction i took. im very glad to be a part of this community, and i hope that you forgive me not posting for a time at the end. i needed time to work straight, as much as i wanted the scene to be a surprise .

id like to give a special thanks to dan, for helping me think about different lighting aproaches. without that guy... well i wouldnt want to see it... thanks man

almost all of the final comp was put together in PS. blender was crashing on me almost nonstop at the end. if i tried to open certain layers or render objects parented to paths then i got one of those polite, but annoying 'sorry blender unexpectedly...' messages. i ended up having to seperate my work into 3 .blend files to have access to my pieces. kind of a drag, but it all turned out.

fun stuff: the robot at the time of render had over 980.000 verts. each tree, with use of awsome new particals, had about 50.000 verts apiece. i had a combined render time of 3.5 hours for all trees and robot passes.

well, thank you for looking... i hope you like it. im going to bed now...
oh and feel more than welcome to crit... i still have 2 days until i need to turn it over. thanks

I like your style Very detailed models!
I also like the trees. They look very realistic I think!

Good job!

Very nice image, great modelling and also great renderings...as well as a good Postpro. It's just a little too foggy if you ask me, some of the clouds are rather too much but heh, that's such a minor thing.
Amazing stuff
