Texturize and Resynthesizer GIMP Plugins are excellent!

Just wanted to let everyone know about two great plugins I stumbled across recently that do EXCELLENT work on creating and refining textures:

Texturize:

This is a really simple tool for creating bigger tilable textures from a small sample. No more having to clone out the boundaries of a title texture! This is pretty sweet.

Resynthesizer:
http://www.logarithmic.net/pfh/resynthesizer

A bit more complex, but there's a LOT you can do with this. In addition to being able to create tiled textures (and being able to control whether it should be tilable horizontally, vertically, or both) it can also remove objects from the image automagically! Got a weird artifact on you brick texture? Boom, it's gone. Really great stuff.

Both have plugins available for the windows version of GIMP:

Of course, they work on Linux, too And, of course, they're all free.

Those guys rock. The reference alone suggests it was not a mere mom and pop plugin:

The Texturize plugin is based on a theoretical computer science article, called "Graphcut Textures: Image and Video Synthesis Using Graph Cuts", written by Vivek Kwatra, Arno Schödl, Irfan Essa, Greg Turk and Aaron Bobick.

and of course, so do the authors of the paper itself.

Nope, just caught Resynthesizer on the freshmeat.net RSS feed, and its homepage linked to Texturize. What's the link to the Orange discussion? I'd be curious to hear what they say about it.
