Last week my company's first game, Origo: Prologue was released. It is an real time strategy game for the Zodiac PDA. All units and buildings are 100% made with Blender, and also some scenes in our teaser trailer.

Blender, Gimp and other open source software made it possible to keep our development costs down (we are a small independant company) while still delivering the visuals we were aiming for.

Just thought it might inspire some to show off commercial stuff made by Blender.

Looks good for a PDA game. The Zodiac (Tapwave) haven't they closed up shop?

I kick myself everytime i here of the Zodiac I & II, i missed the chance to buy a couple new at a fraction of the cost of their RSP when Tapwave went under.

I guess there's still a good market for games though.

Thanks! We set out to compete with PC RTS-games of the 90's and imho that goal was accomplished. The game is about 17MB and a vast majority of it is gfx so it packs quite a lot of Blender content.

Yeah they did, about halfway into our development schedule. Even though we probably would have gained more by cutting our losses back then and jumped onto the next project, we decided not to. We felt that the community still screamed for new and good games so we decided too carry on and finish what we have started. We have recieved a lot of positive feedback from our fans for making that decision and not turning our backs on the platform. They seem very pleased with the product also.

Too bad. Even though there haven't been enough games for it to satisfy a true gamer, it's still an impressive and (relatively) cheap PDA. It's sad the way it ended. It wasn't strong enough to rival 'true' game machines because of lacking support, but it should have prevailed as a good multimedia PDA imo.
