Hi all!
I'm getting a new laptop from work in about a months time. The specs looks awsome, but im abit unshure as to how the graphic card works with Blender, since there is a sluggish perfomance when graphics card prefer directx instead of open gl. Cards name is:ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON™ 9000 graphics controller... and specs for my new machine here:http://www.fujitsu-siemens.com/rl/pr...lo/amiloD.html Any blending and rendering thoughts?

I use a Radeon 7500 to blend and it works great! I have better success with it than with the NVidia Geeforce2 that came with my computer.
Of course, I run Linux, so your milage may vary if you're using Windows. Alex |

I also have a radeon 7500 running in Windows 2000. I had some problems with the menus jumping about and being difficult to select. I tried Houdini and found that had trouble with slow drawing of tool bars, so I suspected that the problem was in the OpenGL driver.
Anyway after some searching around the forums I found a post which said to change the OpenGL settings from Best Quality to Best Performance. Since Then everything has been fine. I know this is not strictly relevent to this thread, but it may be useful to anyone having a similar problem. |
