Composition is done in photoshop
Here’s a shot.
I output a basic pass, an AO pass, glossy direct, and mist pass. I also create a rim light material , this is black glossy and with a slight emission , and create a render with just that material.
I use the mist pass as a mask to mix my layers, and use various blender modes for each layer.
Basically i play around with it a lot.
