Corner pin node

Corner pinning can now be done in Blender.

Yes, but…
They aren’t implementing a straight corner-pin node.
They are taking trackers and performing some mumbo-jumbo on them and applying that to a plane.

It would also be useful to be able to simply pick four trackers and distort an image in the compositor with them.
Or simply drive the keyframes for the distortion ourselves.

We still need a basic corner-pin node also.

Well you can distort images with uv mapped planes. Animate a still with Blender UV mapping http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6fpsMIoCxo&sns=tw via @youtube

Yes, but…
That is not the cool way to do it. It also distorts the image, and not in a good way, when you try to match a still from footage that is reverse corner pinned, with the original footage. Think about the classic HP commercial.
Even with a mult-res modifier applied it doesn’t always match well.
That’s why it really needs to be done in the compositer like every other app.

Every major compositing app has a corner-pin node that allows you to keyframe the four corners.
I hope the devs provide that as an option, they already have done the hard part. Just allow x,y imput values for the four points now also.

What happened to the guy working on this?
