Ekranoplan cargo lifter

Only in Mother Russia :stuck_out_tongue:

Some limited progress. I piled up some railway sleepers and decided to get a shot for an impression of what the scale is like.

Started on some scaffolding.

You have GOT to do a Spruce Goose shot of this http://latimesphoto.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/fa_396_47gooseflies1_970.jpg Ocean modifier, city background, done. Loving the discussions of the aerodynamics of a flying thermometer, kind of like the discussions in another recent thread where the argument was whether or not a dragon has ears. Good fun!

Don’t be so sure…

Vicky, that sounds like an idea! And everyone knows dragons have ears, just not all of them have ears you can see. Honestly, what sort of an education do people get these days?

Seve, your link 403d, but there are quite a lot of resources for ekranoplans. Just like regular aircraft, they can have the engines forward, aft, or centre. It makes little difference to their ability to fly, they seem to be placed forward in the case of ekranoplans in order to get the nose out of the water during take off.

Slow progress, but the flaps are coming along nicely, and I have started chopping up the ekrano body for the in-work bits.
