If you want some critique that is relevant to your animation,please improve your model by adding better strands or using planes with hair alpha mapped to them so if you put it in an animation the rendertimes would be cut down considerably, and may look better. Your skin material also needs improvement as you can add a normal map to add pores to his skin. A color map,a specular map, and a diffuse map would also enhance it. Your model has to look good first, because the general public don't usually see those small mistakes in animations as the artists around here do, and usually the model will impress them before the animation.

Btw. I actually did the same mistake as you for a long time ago, (although I didn’t sell my models, or was rude to anyone). The firm, in this case Animation Mentor, contacted me and asked me to remove the models. And I DID.

In the old thread I also started to argue with blenderguy. But what I don’t understand is why you all get angry just because he won’t listen to your advices. I said it before “It’s his problem and if he gets away with it or has some workaround - fine but that’s none of your business, right???” And if he is rude with some of us than it’s the job of a mod to correct him.
Anyways, as I said in the old thread, the model could use some work in matters of proportions and anatomy but it’s not THAT bad as some people here state. I even think it’s way better than some of the other models sold on turbosquid… and maybe he makes enough money out of it to be abled to afford the fees :evilgrin:

This guy posts his work and expects everyone to love it. What’s the point in posting it in the first place if you can’t accept criticism? What’s the point in trying to be an artist in the first place if you can’t accept criticism and you are going to call people names because they don’t share your views?
Above that, he posts multiple times to reply to multiple people to keep his thread bumped. It is just as easy to reply to everyone in one post. What he is doing does not follow general forum rules.
EVEN FURTHER he creates a new thread of the same thing because his old one was closed.

Ignoring the obvious legal issues (you do appear to be selling a derivative work without the copyright owner’s permission but I am not a lawyer), I think there is still a lot of room for improvement with this model.
- His feet and his hands especially are much too big. They make him look like a cortical homunculus (http://scienceblogs.com/omnibrain/2007/07/clay_homunculi.php), and I’m not sure that’s the look you’re after. Also, his feet are very bony.
- You need to work on the textures. The green is a bit bright for my taste, but fine if you’re going for a cartoony look. I don’t like the bump map though - it makes him look like he has cellulite.
- I’d thicken his waist so it doesn’t look so dainty. I’m worried that a strong wind might snap his tiny spine!
- His pants need some work. They appear to be made from purple rubber. Perhaps it would help if they were frayed at the bottom, or given a cloth texture.
Incidentally, I think I’ve found the inspiration for your first image in this thread (see attached)

All of my work on youtube is original and/or is used with permission. It is legal, dumbass. I also do not have a brasilian commercial…
Your ratatouille model could use much improvement and is not even CLOSE to the original. Naming it ratatouille is not infringing copyright(I don’t think) because the character’s name is Remy, so good luck with that.
Also, you aren’t supposed to open duplicate threads. Just another reason to ban you.

While a well qualified and honorable artist like you works hard in aspects that myself consider irrelevant; such as making detailed pants… the spine or even the skin pores as someone suggested (pretty funny), the TIC-TAC of the clock will get you…someone will step forward getting the hamburgers out of your mouth. :no:
Good sales so far…no one has complained about his pants…his skin or the homunculus problem thing that you mentioned. he he…thanks GOD! …but please…don’t get me wrong it is such an honor and privilege to get such useful advice from a knowledgeable and well dedicated artist.
