procad script

Yeah, sorry, typo on my part, that is what I’ve written. Point is this: direct link to file works, but original script doesn’t. Any ideas why?

sorry don’t know. It works fine for me on windows, that is, version 2.0 of the script. also I have python 2.4.1 installed

hmmm… I’m running OS-X 10.4.8 and Python 2.3. Don’t think something as simple/critical as file paths have changed in 2.4? I’ll dig through the code one more time when I get a chance. I’m real rusty on Python, haven’t touched it in a long while.

none of the links to download the script work, i get a tripod page thats under construction. I cant open the .odt from filefactory because i dont have OpenOffice

Thanks for the warning bigalexe. I almost downloaded that file from filefactory. I am NOT going to download the whole open office suite just to read one file.

I have a suggestion for people posting instructions/doc. If you want to ensure EVERYONE can at least view your instructions/docs, one word. ASCII

ops, sorry! :stuck_out_tongue:

thx this rocks

This is excellent. let’s be sure to get it include in next version of blender!

Is seems that the savefile.com link is down, any mirrors available?

…you are right… for some reason today savefile.com don’t works…

You can download the script from the other link (http://utenti.lycos.it/paoloprovenda/Procad_20.rar)
-you must copy and paste, don’t click directly-

as for the summary, here another link:

I’m using Windows XP, Python Version 2.4, Blender 2.42a.
When trying to make parallel lines using the script, I get the following error in the console:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File “<string>”, line 1037, in bevent
File “<string>”, line 1765, in parallela
File “<string>”, line 1182, in creav1
IndexError: list index out of range

What should I do?

New Release!
ProCAD 2.1
http://utenti.lycos.it/paoloprovenda/PROCAD21.rar
(copy and paste)

I don’t know, but maybe the new version works fine!

Tried the new version. Similar errors. Weren’t in the same lines but similar errors. Still have IndexError-it is the same. I’m only guessing at the translation into English and somewhere trying to divide by zero.

New version :

OK, I’ve asked Japy.
He says this happens when you are in “obj mode” and no mesh selected…

Ok. That worked. Thank you.

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had any models to display that they created using this package.

I’m looking for a good tool to do 3D engineering with on linux (non-professional). But do not know blender well enough to test it out and see.

I also found this tool: http://www.alienhelpdesk.com/index.php?id=38 for doing measurements, which looks like it could co-exist very handily.

try:
www.opencascade.org
and BRL-CAD - http://www.brlcad.org/
you can search: www.sourceforge.net
