hey,
i love the robot transformations - probs the second one is my favourite but theyre both great
did u use shape keys for it?
as far as the tutorial goes - i downloaded the whole thing a while ago and i can play it all on my comp using flash movie player. i could host it somewhere but i dunno if this would be breaking copyright?
cheers,

Hey,
thanks for the reply!
I should have some texture tests up later this afternoon(when I get home from work).
I didn't use shape keys because during rotations it would also scale the objects, so I ended up using an armature which worked beautifully!
I would host the flash file too...but I'm also scared of copyright violations...
So be expecting more this evening!

Okay,
I've started playing around with fire that will hopefully be realistic enough for my movie.
Here is the thread for that!

I felt it was more of an independent project than a part of this one...

Hey, magiciandude, I'm planning on making a live action movie with CG effects soon myself, so all this about bluescreening and stuff is really helpful. I really like your test videos! No matter how closely I watch them, I can't tell that the sword arm or the gun arm aren't really part of you, they line up so closely with your real arm. How do you get the 3D model to follow your arm so closely?

Thanks for the reply, and sorry that I haven't been updating lately...too much stuff to work on other than this(job, school work, etc.)
But there's no real secret for that. I just set the video as my background, went in frame by frame, and matched the gun/sword up to my arm.
Its a bit tedious, but its probably the best way to do it in my opinion!
Hope this helped!

Okay, I thought of doing it that way, but I thought that perhaps you had found some faster method.
So if you set a video as your background image in Blender, it'll show the appropriate frame from the video for each frame of your animation?
And this looks like it will be a very interesting project, once it's done!

thats the coolest car! I can't wait to see the video. I'm into DV videoing, but i'm still a blender noob. I'm going to buy the part i need to connect the camera to the computer (the PC device, not the cable). what camera do you have?

Hey, thanks for the replies!
Jesusfrk14: I'm not really sure what specific camera I have...but I know it IS a cannon for sure...but I use the firewire for import in to adobe premier...no USB or anything...
Hope this helps!

thanks, and i don't have the USB, and i have to buy the PC part to connect the cable to. I am afraid I only have Windows movie maker and movie maker pro
but Once i get the PC part, i want to make a short movie with some friends. I don't know what about, maybe a fun thing about a chocolte bar, or a portal into a cool place, who knows.
but thanks

btw, my sister and me might make a funny swifter ad for fun. its going to me a army like one, and, though i didn't talk about it over with my sister, i have an idea in my mind for outside the window there is explosions and air planes, etc. i still have to write the script, but if we follow though with it, would you want to do the "outside" stuff? you don't have to of course.
