    hey,

i love the robot transformations - probs the second one is my favourite but theyre both great did u use shape keys for it?

as far as the tutorial goes - i downloaded the whole thing a while ago and i can play it all on my comp using flash movie player. i could host it somewhere but i dunno if this would be breaking copyright?

    cheers,

    carwyn

    Hey,
    thanks for the reply!
I should have some texture tests up later this afternoon(when I get home from work).

I didn't use shape keys because during rotations it would also scale the objects, so I ended up using an armature which worked beautifully!

I would host the flash file too...but I'm also scared of copyright violations...

So be expecting more this evening!

    Okay,
I've started playing around with fire that will hopefully be realistic enough for my movie.

Here is the thread for that!

    http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=102008

I felt it was more of an independent project than a part of this one...

Hey, magiciandude, I'm planning on making a live action movie with CG effects soon myself, so all this about bluescreening and stuff is really helpful. I really like your test videos! No matter how closely I watch them, I can't tell that the sword arm or the gun arm aren't really part of you, they line up so closely with your real arm. How do you get the 3D model to follow your arm so closely?

  5. #25
Thanks for the reply, and sorry that I haven't been updating lately...too much stuff to work on other than this(job, school work, etc.)

But there's no real secret for that. I just set the video as my background, went in frame by frame, and matched the gun/sword up to my arm.

Its a bit tedious, but its probably the best way to do it in my opinion!

    Hope this helped!

Okay, I thought of doing it that way, but I thought that perhaps you had found some faster method. So if you set a video as your background image in Blender, it'll show the appropriate frame from the video for each frame of your animation?

And this looks like it will be a very interesting project, once it's done!

Yeah...there's no easy way to do it necesarrily as far as I can tell .

Anyways, I've been working on the main hero's car, which is only in one scene before it smashes into a wall...one weekend soon we're going downtown to film some empty footage of roads...then we're adding in a cg car chase scene...here's the car so far though. Its a mercedes McLaren SLR. Preeetttyyy.

Let me know what you think so far...and here are the pictures of what the actual car looks like:

I'll probably post some wires later...

Check it out, let me know what you think!

    Your support is greatly appreciated!!!

Just one thing on the car ? It is better to remove the Mercedes LOGO and modify a bit the design!

Don`t wanna do an indirect Commercial?

    Keep them thight

thats the coolest car! I can't wait to see the video. I'm into DV videoing, but i'm still a blender noob. I'm going to buy the part i need to connect the camera to the computer (the PC device, not the cable). what camera do you have?

  10. #30
    Hey, thanks for the replies!

Jesusfrk14: I'm not really sure what specific camera I have...but I know it IS a cannon for sure...but I use the firewire for import in to adobe premier...no USB or anything...

    Hope this helps!

thanks, and i don't have the USB, and i have to buy the PC part to connect the cable to. I am afraid I only have Windows movie maker and movie maker pro but Once i get the PC part, i want to make a short movie with some friends. I don't know what about, maybe a fun thing about a chocolte bar, or a portal into a cool place, who knows.

    but thanks

btw, my sister and me might make a funny swifter ad for fun. its going to me a army like one, and, though i didn't talk about it over with my sister, i have an idea in my mind for outside the window there is explosions and air planes, etc. i still have to write the script, but if we follow though with it, would you want to do the "outside" stuff? you don't have to of course.

  13. #33
Wow, Its been quite a while...but we're finally filming next week(we finished the script just yesterday morning ...

And of course, I wouldn't bump the thread without some pictures!!! Just note, most of this was done in the past two nights because I haven't been able to work on stuff hardly at all...let me know what you think!

First of all, here's my hover police car...will be put on real backgrounds for our chase scene...

And here's another picture of it from the side:

Sorry for the file size, but here are some videos of that police car in action! Let me know what you think!
    http://www.badluckbob.com/policecartestwithblue.mov
    http://www.badluckbob.com/policecarnoblue.mov

One has blue under it...one doesn't...let me know which one you like better...although I'm definitely going to play around with the blue to see if I can improve it...Also, does anyone know how to do motion blur in yafray? I couldn't get it to work...

And here's the mercedes that I was modelling...finished it(except for the interior...but I'll probably just tint the windows...Oh yeah 0_o):

And here's a building I'm working on...I'm probably just going to get footage of real building though...way too difficult to make realistic buildings. Regardless, let me know what you think of it so far! I think it'll be Johns Lobster Barn(as opposed to Joes Crab Shack) when its done...if I decide to use 3d buildings I'm going to make a library of them and just cut and paste into desirable scenes! Well...let me know what you think!:

And here's one from an above angle:

And one more thing...I did some more fire tests(not using blender for the fire ...) by capturing fire on my bluescreen using coffee creamer and fire...they turned out pretty well...here I am shooting fire from my hands haha:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQPOI6xUKso

Well, ENJOY!!! And C&C are always welcome(and appreciated)!

    -Chris

P.S. I'll post wires etc. if anyone wants them!!! Just ask!!! And PLEASE leave C&C!!!

EDIT: Here's the hovercar on youtube...althought I suggest downloading it from the link above so you can scroll through frame by frame ...
