I need to build a rig for this cow. I am very new to blender and have only done a few very simple rigs. If anyone knows of a cow or horse rigging tutorial or has some suggestions I would be very grateful. I seem not to find anything useful on a google search. Lot’s of characters but nothing that I can find on realistic cows.
First, make sure it’s legal in your area to rig a cow.
Search for “quadruped rigging”. There’s plenty of stuff.
However, if you have the time, a good way to learn is through observation.
Check out the BBC motion gallery, for example, and think of how you would animate that motion, then try to make a rig that can achieve it.

Yeah I did. But that looks to me to be for a mechanical quadruped. Not sure if it would work right with this mesh. I will have to look at what he did and see if I can learn anything from it.
