Should be within 24 hours. Coding is done, I'm working on the documentation now.

    Fantastic!

I'll be ready to dive into the testing once again .

    LoopTools 3.1 release

Time for a proper LoopTools release. The newest version is LoopTools 3.1 and was written for the current version of Blender. So you need a SVN build, Blender 2.56 won't work.

    Download
You can download the add-on at the main LoopTools website.
At that website you'll also find a lot of documentation, explaining every single setting in the script, as well as what input each tool expects.

    Introduction
For a quick introduction to the script, have a look at this video:

    Changes
Below is a full release log of all changes since version 3.0:

    Bug fixes
    - Input detection improved for the curve tool (reported by Dune2k)
    - Solved namespace collision with Fabian Frickes relax add-on (reported by Tungee)
    - Fixed crash in the relax tool (reported by dmao)
    - Fixed crash with perpendicular loops in the curve tool
    - Solved errors with custom radius of circle tool (reported by octane98)
    - Solved projection of vertices on backside of mesh for the circle tool (reported by octane98)
    - Fixed crash with mirror modifier (circle/curve/relax/space), caused by api change
    - Improved loop direction detection for bridge and loft (reported by metalliandy)
    - Fixed divide by zero error on very small meshes for relax tool

    New features
    - Circle: single point input is now also flattened (suggested by octane98)
    - Improved caching for all tools
    - Flatten: 2 new ways to calculate plane: normal and view
    - Tool settings are stored between runs (all tools)
    - Tool settings can be set before running the tool (all tools)
    - Relax: relaxing is displayed live in 3d-view
    - Added the bridge tool (and implemented caching and settings storage)
    - Added the loft tool (and implemented caching and settings storage)

    Conclusion
I know this doesn't implement all suggestions given, but I thought it was important to finally release a new version with proper documentation, so it's easier for everybody to use.

I'd like to thank everybody who has helped me. Whether it be by giving feedback, a donation or providing test models. Thank you.

Any new feedback (bug reports, suggestions, questions, or anything else) is of course still very welcome.

    video intro is very cool
have to try all of these this weekend

from video i cans see you can go from squarish to let say circle
but is there one where you can go from almost circular to a rectangle shape?

with the bridge included here very nice work !

by any chance can we download this little video and keep it as a tut and replay anytime we need to?

    and thanks for sharing this

wow, this is extremely useful, no longer will I be forced to boolean with a UV Sphere to get holes, now I ll be able to make a circle and then delete the center vertice,
And as a special thanks, Ill be donating some money on my next paycheck! Keep up the good work, very nice, extremely Useful +1

    Awesome job Crouch!

Thanks for the brilliant script...It has made modelling much more enjoyable for me when using 2.5

    hey crouch its looking good.
The circle option is great, any idea to create like chamfer vertex like in other commercial 3d software's.

Attachment 133963trying to use the bridge tool!

    can someone help

seems to be twisting between 2 edges subdivided or not
    anyway not to twist

and when adding these new edges is it possible to take shape of a 1/4 circle or not possible ?

    thanks for any help

RickyBlender: you can only go from squarish to circle, not the other way round.
You can download the video from the vimeo page. There is a link about halfway down the page, on the right side.
About your bridge problem: for bridging 2 edges you can of course simply use the default Blender command: F. If you use bridge, and get a twisted result, use the twist and reverse settings to fix the problem. You can also send a .blend to me and I'll see if I can optimise the Bridge algorithm.

Evil Moon MOose: I already answered your pm earlier today (as did new_blender), but I'll repeat it for other people who can't get the script to work: LoopTools needs a current build of Blender, 2.56a is not recent enough.

new_blender: chamfer vertex sound a lot like bevelling a single vertex to me, but perhaps you could give some explanation.

tungee, metalliandy, Carrozza: thanks for the nice comments.

for the bridge i will try to subdivide these edges and then apply the bridge and see if i can get a 1/4 circle
but with only 2 edges seems to twist i'll test some more
and if not working ok then i'll upload file alter on

might work that would be fun!

i alway wanted to have something to go from circle to square
is there another tool in blender that can do that ?
but this could be a good option for the circle one
mind you i can almost get it with the influence value i think
    i'l experiment some more!

I guess with 1/4 circle you mean the cubic interpolation effect, as demonstrated in the video.
You can go from circle to square using the cast-modifier. In theory it allows you to reshape an existing mesh into any other arbitrary mesh (haven't used it myself, hence the 'in theory' part). Using a vertex group you should be able to use this for going from a circle to a square.

    got the twist option working
nicely working for adding a 1/4 circle with bridge on my strange shape

now is there something to add vertex following global axis for instance
cause right now it's not following global axis!

which might be a nice option to have

gotta say, Bart, you've outdone yourself, v3.1 is GREAT! Everything you've added is really useful & well thought out IMO.

Chamfer Vertices: Converting single vertices to circle, increase the amount will give big circle see image below.

    And one more request.
    * create edges diagonally between selected vertices.
    see the image below.
First is (The vertices are selected.) Second is (diagonally edges created from the vertices)

@new_blender: As Crouch pointed out, chamfering individual vertices is already possible with chromoly's bevel addon. If I'm not mistaken, the terms chamfer and bevel are pretty much interchangeable. Hope this helps.
