another example of GPGPU’s potential. cool that they used elephants dream.

anyone know what the hd renders averaged for Blender internal? 8-9secs a frame is good but they are definitely missing elements

It wouldn’t be a relative comparison as Blender wasn’t using REYES subpixel rendering, this is why the paper does comparisons against PrMan instead :wink:

so can we actually try this? and how?

The rendering of Elephants dream looks OK considering its totally GPU rendered, but it still does not look as good as the original.

well looks good, but even if you could tell us how to use it with blender I don’t have an x64 system so I won’t be able to use it.

What sort of post processing was done in this example versus the original?
