hey there :smiley:

i think i’ve seen some users who have animated Avatars… i created a gif, and wanted to use one, but it says i’m not allowed to use animated Avatars. is there a way i can?

No. Page response for all users is more important than animated avatars. I’m almost sure the capability has been switched off, but if you did see an animated one it will be a very longtime user that has carried over.

You can use animated PNGs.

animated pngs? never heard of an animated png before, lol :smiley: well, i’ll just use a frame from the Gif, considering the option has been switched off :smiley:

Avatar is mocap animation not ‘keyframe animation’. If it had been selected for the Best Animated Oscar it would’ve just been cannon fodder for one of the ‘keyframed’ films like UP. Look at Transformers 2 — it’s CG and mostly animated and it wasn’t nominated for ‘Best Animated Oscar’.
