Turnaround video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQPSyyc3KS8&feature=channel

I can’t believe its done.

I swear I didnt think I’d ever see the day lol  But I’m proud to bring you my personal project that lasted near 6 months. This is my Ferrari 599 GTB model. After everything was said and done I had hoped for more accuracy, but none the less this is my first finished vehicle and I am very happy with it and surprised I didnt give up. I also want to take the time to thank spacetug for helping me throughout the entire project.

There is a pretty big thread over here if anybody wants to see wires, progress, details, many more renders, etc it all there http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=177734

For a sec i thought it was real cars!
I’m really impressed!

wow.
that is really inspiring. I can’t believe how well that turned out.
the only crit I have is that the bricks don’t hold a candle up to the quality of the car.
I really love that wheel

Thanks man! I appreciate your comment. Hopefully my next project is looks like a real car for longer :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree, I probably could of spent a bit longer on the enviornment, I guess my skills are lacking in that area.

And thanks about the wheels! Those are actually newly remodeled tires. Different from older studio renders. I never mentioned that earlier in the WIP.

(however, they are about a million verts for all four of them subsurfed at level 1, about 2.5 mil with rims nuts calipers etc) Still managed less than 1 min a frame for the turnaround video in case anyone was curious.

Thanks

That… is pure awesomeness. Congratulations!

shocking how well those tires came out the whole car is also an awesome piece of work

impressive! and the lightblue metalic is my favourite. 5 stars!

what colour light is beaming down on the front of the red one?

Woah this is spectacular! Amazing work there, mate!

Great work there. The environment seems to be problem though…how about some studio renders?

Excellent job. no crits.

Sorry I havent responded in a bit. I saw earlier comments, but by the time I saw them this thread had been pushed down a bit and I didnt want to seem like the person who’s consitently bumping their own thread  However with the recent comments I can jump in now

 Thanks man, really appreciate your input throughout the project

I appreciate the comment Tyrant monkey. I agree, I think the tires are one of the best features. Pretty Hi poly however.

The only lights used in all outdoor renders is One sun, plain white color and the HDRI sample from hdri-locations.com Thank you alot for the comment!

 Thank you, all these comments keep me motivated to make another

Thank you for the input. I have a bunch of other renders that can be found on the WIP thread located in the focused critique sections here. There is a direct link in the first post  Just didnt want to clutter the thread with too many pictures. But there are a whole bunch in the thread specified.

Thanks Keith!

excellent!!

I love just looking at it.

Awesome, nice shading too! Now comes the most fun part; compositing it into a picture of your parking place :stuck_out_tongue:

beautiful model, amazing detail! how long did it take?

was this rendered in BI, because you should seriously do some renders with Yafaray or Lux in different environments

wow! it’s super your ferrari i like

Very nice work… to gain a bit more realism (in the closeup at least) is have some thickness in the wheel wells’ sheet metal… extrude the edge a little bit I would say…
