Hi there. I & owner of escalight.com are starting an open game project. Noobs, Intermediates are welcomed & pros are specially needed.
Aim of the project:-
The aim of the project is to create a unreal tournament style game with special emphasis on achieving high quality graphics.
Why you should join the project:-
Central aim of the project is to learn. Noobs and intermediates can learn a lot. You don’t need to devote very large amount of time to this, if you do that’s great commitment & even if you don’t then your slightest help is more than enough.
Here are some of the weapons that I made for the project.Note that they are incomplete so they are untextured and may change in time.I posted them earlier to keep people enthusiastic about the project.I will edit them later when I complete the mesh(and stop LAGZILLA!!!.. from crashing blender).Also note that the pulse rifle is an extension of the pulse gun.This is an example of weapon customization.
the circles have to much polys, set them to 8 or if they don’t look good 16 don’t make them to high poly because i am the character modeller and they have arround 3000 polys (maybe more) so we don’t want to have that the game will run slow.
We turn the progress page to an about page showing the summary of our game like storyline,maps and game types.Im also posting some unrelated stuff on the blog that may interest you(or not).Check it out
guys I have something to say. If you keep modeling things that have a lot of vertexes, your game will FAIL. The models need to be lower in vertexes. the sword alone looks like 6000 verts, and a sword that I would model for a game would be only 600 verts and would look nearly the same. PLEASE PLEASE model lower poly!
dont worry we will actually retopo things too.
actually since game is in its early stages so more interested in making high poly stuff first.

divide that number by 10.I only use smooth and bevel for my hard body models(sometimes without bevel).In fact,my models are between usually 100 to 300 verts

i think we need a better/cool looking lance launcher gotta model it.
need some eyecandy maps ;).
like displacement maps .
