Awwwwww <3…

So cute, I love this dragon :D…
Well, the shapes look good  , except that the tail “fins” are a little disattached…

Being black & all, you can’t really see the detail in the screenshots. Any chance you could post a closer screenshot (specially of the head, pleeeease <3).

Ok here is a better image of it.http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/9601/nightfury.png

Remember I have only been using blender for about a week now and never did any 3d modeling before this.

He’s starting to look just as cute as the one in the movie.

Generally I would think he’d be easier to model than most other classical Dragon types, the shape is somewhat simpler and the head doesn’t have as many details like horns and ridges.

Only crit. for now is that you have a bad transition between the wing-frame and the back, you should model that as continuous geometry if you want it to look good.

Just remade the main wings again lol

New Wings!! XD…

The head looks cuuuuute ;), just not too detailed…
Are you using a subsurf modifier? O.o

nope I am not using any modifiers

Update: I am trying to attach the legs to the main model and make sure they are the right scale.

Using a subsurf modifier whenever you do organic modeling can save you a lot of headaches in the long run (particulary when you need to model something poly-by-poly, need to make a bit of a change to an area, or if you need to UVmap the model)

Nice progress on the wings, they look greatly improved.

Wow, this is coming along nicely, and you said you never modeled before??? wow
A tip though, when posting wires, dont put up wireframe screenshots, but rather editmode (solid) screenshots/openGL renders.

He didn’t say he hadn’t modeled before :eyebrowlift2:, just that he hadn’t used Blender before

He did say he didnt do any 3d modelling, after he mentioned he’s been using blender for a week.
Nice work dude! But show us some solid wires. =]

So, you note that he’s never done any modeling before and has only been using Blender for a week and yet expect him to know how to render wireframes?

I’ve been using Blender for over a year and still don’t know how to render wireframes.

Err, i never said i expect him to know how to render wireframes…
Rather i gave him a tip…
“A tip though, when posting wires, dont put up wireframe screenshots, but rather editmode (solid) screenshots/openGL renders.”

And there are 3 ways actually. (at least i know 3 ways)
One is to take a screen shot of editmode in solid view.
Another is to render the edit mode by pressing on this small button next to the “magnet button” (buttons window) (blender 2.49)
And the 3rd way(most time consuming but awesome results)(use for demo-reels) is to render a clay material on the model with a wire material on a duplicate model (shift-d) ---- here is a tutorial on that…http://vimeo.com/5659666

If he’s never modeled before than this is an astounding start for sure, I was crud at modeling anything organic in the first few years of using Blender (and my first attempt at modeling a Dragon was…ugh, nothing of this quality)

I am 17 and have never done any 3d modeling before this.
