    momijigari this is a destructive script, it will replace your own materials -no way back other than ctrl+z-
    there are a couple of new alternatives you can also try: Freestyle if using BI or wireframe node in Cycles
    then options like compositing a OpenGL render, exporting UV layout and loading as texture, and so on...
    none of these all is perfect though :/

    Excellent... very easy in its use and very useful. It was a needed add on a long time now... : - )

    Is there a way to add to it an option for thickening the wireframe lines in render? I think such a think would be great.

    Brilliant script! Nice and easy! I can agree with preceding members. One thing concerns me if it's possible somehow to control wireframe thickness?

    To make the mesh transparent just set the alpha of the mat_clay material to 0.0.
    If you really need to control the size of the lines consider using Freestyle. With Freestlye you can make any edge line any size or color you want.
    I rarely use Blender anymore.

    cycles have geometry wireframe node for this effect

    Works pretty well. Iwe used it for some spesific stuff. One thing is that it dont handle diagonal lines too well
