ColR, ColB and ColG Object IPO buttons

What colours are being controlled by the ColR, ColB, ColG in the object IPO? I thought perhaps particles or vertex colours but this doesn’t seem to be the case, at least I can’t seem to get it to work (maybe I don’t understand the Y value range). If this is documented somewhere I would sure appreciate knowing as I couldn’t find it anywhere.

They controls object’s colour shown in game engine.

tha alpha channel is also supported (IPO controlled fading in GE)
