Learning Python...really worth it?

I know I will get some biased opinions here, but I’m just wondering is Python for blender (scripting for blender) actually worth the time to learn it? I will not become a professional game developer or designer, so scripting is just for fun in blender. I want to know if Python actually has some practical uses in the “real world”; I want to know if it is as valuable a Java, C++, or any of those extremely popular languages.

I want to learn it, and all I need is to learn syntax and methods. I cannot find any documents explaining this in at least decent detail.

Any opinion/stand is welcome. Please give backup/support on your opinion

If you have to ask the answer is no. Don’t bother learning python until you realize you want to learn python.

If you want to learn it and it sounds like fun then you should do it. Being able to use Python in the BGE or even just script Blender opens up a lot of possibilities beyond what the logic bricks can do.
