using BGE with Blender Renderer or Cycles

Hi, I am fairly familiar with the bge, there are features in the bge that would be useful in “ordinary” blender such as the nav mesh and collision detectors, say for example if I wanted to script some crowd behavior. Is there a way to combine the game engine with the regular renderers?

You can record any animation that happens during the running of the game engine. This can then be played back for rendering either in BI or cycles
