Hi,

thks

Hi.

I uploaded a zip file with several scripts…I had that zipfile with some of the scripts I use more/like. I use to download eveything I’m interested in and make backup CDs…

Bob’s site was said to be down for a time.

This is a temporal upload I made for you, I am not sure if you are going even to be able to grab it. I mean, I don’t know if it works. But is only I could do.

do not click right click and “save as”…just click there bellow, and in new page, search for a link that says : “Download/show the hosted file” .Click there.

Oh, and do not pay atention in the numbers…is not that I have a secret 1.7 version when only a 0.7 version have been released…is that i download several times often, to ensure, or as I don’t remember, and mozilla Firefox adds a number that often gets mixed with the version. Not a big issue, though. Unless I am wrong, I think in that zip u have the very latest Bob holocomb’s versions (and some other like the improved by someone md3 exporter (animation support) for md3) before he had to shutdown the server till some month this new year.

It’d be nice if there were a kind of mirror for these things…but quite uptodate…at least, some where where users could upload the scripts when the author server is down, or something. I have seen people asking for bob’s scripts too many times now… Dunno, py files are small…even zipped ones, with tuts, etc, aren’t that big…Anyways, hope u’re able to grab it there…if not, say and I’ll see if I can find other of these free places…thing is bandwith, and that i don’t know if it actually works…and u know, these places most often are down. This one I don’t know.

Hey!

Of course, not all in that zip file is from Bob! There are a pair there from JMS, and other authors … i just had the zip that way and uploaded…

I modified the script to handle UVs a bit better
http://home.netspeed.com.au/mcginnes/blender/import-3ds.py

The original script created per vertes UVs, which dont seem to appear in the UV editor. It also didnt handle images properly.

I recommend that you “remove Doubles” on an imported mesh.

enjoy,
Damien
