Wow, just went back through my old uploads to BA... that's a) a lot, and b) embarrassing. So I'll post some

I'm sure there were older ones but they seem to have expired off. Here's my appalling modeling skills (before sculpting was a thing), and a fluid sim with BI material (before Cycles was a thing)

Hmm, some more oldies from the archive!
A parking garage that I was going to fill with water, until I tried the fluid simulator (best forgotten) and the start of my love for the array modifier and DNA. Oh and a 2.49 screeny for the chuckles.

Now what else can I find, lots of bad lighting for a start. So glad that we have Filmic now.
A crusty old dish and a watery blob with caustics and dusty room. Look at all those light (before Cycles of course).

A corporate video I did for my families tourist business, the video worked but the business...
Also the VSE was really really buggy at this point. The not so good old days.

My first stab at Cycles IIRC? My little Rocket Room. Looked cool but the render times back then just killed my enthusiasm.

That time I made a bunch of video effect filters, because nodes were so much fun... and the VSE didn't have a blur effect.
The first one is a clipping fixer that transposes detail from unclipped highlight channels

Next is a posterise effect, very 1980's

And a good old unsharp mask for adding detail or as the cool kids say "clarity"

AHHH, reflecting on past works in prior Blender versions.... you just gotta love it. I was doing the same a couple weeks ago, opened up 2.49 for about 1 minute and thought I should just delete this version...., how I hate that UI.

Forgot to say how much I enjoy browsing your sketchbook though...really great stuff.

    Thanks I really appreciate it!

Looking back I really wonder why I persisted so long with so many bugs, but it was really worth it.

Ah, I remember those - that was when I too was struggling to get cycles to behave on my little laptop

All of your work proves there is always more than a single way to skin a cat....
