Cannot export rigged mesh (fbx)

Hello everyone,

I have made a robot and rigged it and I’m really happy with the result.


I made it similiar to a tutorial on youtube by Alimayo Arango. The problem is when I export it to unreal engine 4 as fbx I get an error and it doesn’t work. However I thought it was a problem of the unreal engine, but after severeal attempts I realized that the problem wasn’t at the unreal engine, but at blender. I tried to import my rigged robot after exporting it and this was the following result:


The mesh gets imported correctly, but instead of the bones is just this strange cross.
I have tried many different ways, but nothing works. I hope someone can help me.

does it have to be in fbx format?

I know there is an add on that exports strait to Unreal .psk/.psa

you will need to turn it on…
File > User Preferences > Add-ons tab > Import-Export (in the left hand list) > find "Import-Export: Unreal Format(.psk/.psa)

I’ve never used the unreal engine but that might help…
