"Ribs" or "Sections" add on

Hi everyone, i’ve been looking for a script that does something like this fellow does on the video, but cant find any… i think i’m using wrong terms in my search… any suggestions ?

If you want to cut sections rather than use a script you can use the knife project tool to project a series of lines onto the mesh to slice through your mesh, then just separate those cut sections
