Animating a Book in Blender Progress TimothyJ

Hello!

I’m having trouble following this tute here by CGCookie :slight_smile:

First time rigging really. I just want to make a nice book animation XD
Here is the problem I’m having with the rig not working as it should

I’ve also attached a blend here

Basically the bone should not flip when the top bone controller is rotated to the right.

Thanks a lot! A very novel approach.
For simplicity I might stay with the original method. By adding a constrain rotation, it fixed the issue of extending past and flipping.

I’ve got a weird issue going on with the book binding too. It’s sticking to imaginary space and not deforming properly.

-i am not really sure about what you try to achieve but if you talking about the lattice deformation the bone and vertex names are not the same.

-And the other thing is your DEF_Binding bone it is located on the end of the edge_roll bone but it should be in the middle, between the two edge_roll b.

-Also your precision of your bones are not good and the result is a unsymetrical deformations.

I did not know capitals would make a difference and they certainly did. It’s working as expected now, and thanks a lot for the DEF_Binding pickup. I’ll check the positioning again.
