Blender Cycles Improvement Idea - Text Texture Node

Hi all,
recently i wondered if it would be possible to have a Material Node that implies Text to a material. It should not use the “Text” 3D Function which creates a 3D Object that is Text. I mean to use Text as a shader node to bring words onto surfaces without using extra geometry or Image Textures. A Node like this may look something like this:


If somebody has some idea, it would be great to discuss about it.

I could see where that would have its uses, but I think it’d be better to offer such as a part of texture painting. (Likely an object would need UV mapping applied for it to work most of the time anyways.)

If the texture painting mask offered text as one of the textures, it’d save on having to jump to other software to do the same.
