    Use Experimental developer builds: https://builder.blender.org/download/experimental/
I also notice that for the default 2.77 blender responsiveness seams a bit slower (as when working with nodes).
Not sure when that kicked in, but i came to notice this lately more often, then when i worked with beta versions.
It seams sometimes a viewport refresh needs to finish rendering phase before other things can be altered.

Concluding that probably the viewer needs some updates too (besides for this special denoise branch).

The cause of the artifacts should be the noise normal texture in the car paint shader:

I've made a gazillion of tests on many things before testing probably the most obvious one... DOH!

    It's really good

Thanks, this is so great, pretty usable for me at this stage, can't think what I will be able to do when its finished.
I think I will keep using it forever, even if it didn't make it to the Official Blender.

All pictures below are with the filter default settings.

All images rendered with 600 sample, 10 to 12 minute each.

@LazyVirus: Oh… I am a bit surprised. In my tests the stupid squares appreard during the denoising pass, right at the end. I am surprised that the nodes assembly for the materials plays a part in that process, I thought that was some post processing, playing with pixel values only…

    You know what's best ?
Setting a value of 0 for the strengh of the Normal Map node leads to the squares being here all the same… Odd…

I hope that can help Lukas.

Saif on a row you are ha? The only needed amount of samples in your renderings are really making me feel better about Cycles!

@Saif, ¿Are you using build shared in the first post, or experimental 64bits build?

Saif, great examples, very beautiful renders too! I feel this is going to be a very important addition to Blender

Yes, this thing make stay up late, it's addicting to see Vray-like quality in terms of noise.
About the samples, yes, I am keeping very low samples amount and let the filter do it's job, giving it an authentic test.
Cycles is already really good, it's just the noise(well, not anymore).

Thank you. I agree, and I hope it will make it to the official Blender.

Some issues I faced while working:

    - Can't render on higher resolution: 1920x1080 can't render on more than 150%, I get this error:

it works fine in the official Blender.

    - Real time viewport rendering, does not work.

    - These random splotches appear in some renders and in some renders the default value of Half Window is enough,
we need to figure out a standard good value.

    - Can't filter passes I just get a white image, also I wish you add the other passes, like AO.

Some workarounds I figured, if you increase the Half Window you will get a smoother results but it will cost the accuracy, the accuracy hit will be on the refection and the shadows the most, the work around is to extract the reflection pass and the shadow pass, and composite them back into the picture, I will test it out.

What's the difference between this one and the ones he provided, is it updated to fix the passes problems ?

Also on another subject I have Nivida GTX 980 TI, I wonder if its the reason why I have low render times and good quality ?

About your GPU, here's bug report & development: Cycles: NVidia GTX 980 Ti rendering at 1/3rd speed of NVidia GTX 980 the same machine?

Hi and yes, the latest version has some bugs fixed (filters) and better denoise on borders.
