Simplify F-Curves add on doesn't work with .mdd data

I imported an mdd animation to my mesh and tried using the simplify curves add on, but when I typed it in to the search, it doesn’t even come up. I know it works for other objects that have animations in my scene, it just doesn’t work for objects that have the imported mdd key frames.

Is there something extra I need to do to make the add on work, or is this a problem with the add on? Any help is appreciated.

Importing .mdd files creates a series of shapekeys, one for each frame, so you really have no curves to simplify

I see… then I guess my next question would be: Is there a way to simplify a series of shape keys?
