Parenting mesh to armature deforms mesh?

Hello everyone i’m pretty new to blender and i came across a certain problem… When parenting the mesh to the armature w/ automatic weights the mesh upper body is fine but when it comes to the lower part its a complete disaster…Thnks for the help

Look at the axis of the leg bones while toggling between, edit and pose mode. They are flipping 180 degrees. Change your pole angle in the IK constraint.

Your leg is too straight. Add a slight bend to the leg bones so the knee is slightly forward.

Also, you have some asymmetry in the rig. Select bones one one side in edit mode, with x mirror on ( tool panel), G, Enter.

Some of the foot bones have odd placements. Fix their default positions in edit mode so toggling between pose and edit mode there is no bone jumping.
