This seems like a pretty big community, yet this site doesn’t use SSL. That means if I’m on a public network like a cafe’s wifi, I can’t log in to this forum because my username and password will be exposed for anyone to sniff. Here’s a vote to secure this site 
Generally speaking, I don’t see any reason why SSL couldn’t be supported. That said, since the forum allows members to embed content (images, videos) from other sites, including some external APIs (I think), it would be hard to consider that SSL protection as ironclad. I could be wrong on that, but this is my current understanding of the situation.
