Duplicate bones along with bone weight?

Hi all, is there a way to duplicate a bone, along with the bone weight? Tried using the “Transfer weights” function, but that seems to only work when using 2 separate meshes.

I’m trying to improve on a model’s rigging, and it has 1 eyebrow bone connected to the entire brow region. I’m trying to duplicate that brow bone, and remove half the weights from each bone respectively so I can have two bones controlling either side of the brow region.

You can just copy the vertex group of the original bone and then rename it so that it has the same name as the copied bone.

Wasn’t aware that renaming a vertex group caused it to be linked to a bone of the same name. Thanks for the help!
