Applying normal map to model

I had a 3D artist create me a character model. He gave me the model, diffuse map texture, and normal map texture. I have imported the model to blender and applied the diffuse map to the model. I’m currently suck on how to apply the normal map texture on to the model.

It would help, of course, if we at least knew what render engine you intend to use.
Cycles’ and Blender Internal’s material systems are quite different…
