Good movie, don't miss it: "Kubo and the Two Strings"

I just finished watching a “sleeper” movie, Kubo and the Two Strings, which is in theaters now.

It is a different sort of animated movie, apparently involving puppetry (with subsequent digital manipulation), as well as traditional CG. It is, to me, a masterwork of creativity and “pure story.” Anyway, it is a very refreshing change from the “bug-eyed cute” pure-CG movies that are being thrust down our throats today. It is based on Japanese traditions of magic, history and culture, and it remains refreshingly serious throughout … right from its enigmatic and oft-repeated opening line, “If you need to blink, do it now …”
