I have a green screen video. How would I make the color green into alpha in the video sequence editor?

you dont. this is an effect that you achieve in the node editor. the video sequence editor only really does the most basic of effects. most of the work that you need to do on your clip will be done in the compositor. theres a few videos on my youtube channel explaining how to properly greenscreen
