as some of you might have noticed, Blender development is now in B-Con 3 stage. this means a new release is almost ready. and we need a new splash screen!
So, a splash screen contest for 2.37, is now announced.
rules/guidelines:
you have to use the template. get it here (.png). or here (.psd). (psd file opens in gimp too)
image resolution has to match the template.
do not modify the template, just paste it on top of your creation as it is.
do not use blender logo in your image.
you can use your old images, or make completely new.
good splashes look cool.
good splashes show new features on the release. (this can be overlooked if the image is otherwise extremely fabulous.)
contest starts now, and will end when we reach B-Con 4.
I will keep you posted on the situation, as the final dates are not set yet.
(could be something around 4 weeks or more)

i can guarentee you that that one won’t make it - i submitted the original (from my tutorial that you followed) last version - plus it’s yafray not blender - still nice image!
Mostly the blender border in a splash screen is white, but the one with that planet an yellow clothes, it rocks, I mean, translucen blender border looks a way better, non static and gives a relaxing feeling.
