Really good! Was worried for a while, as you seemed to be going backwards with the project. But you've taken it back into the right direction, and I think this latest render is the best yet. great work!

Looks good but still looks like a doll or robot. It's too symmetrized. It's just you know... too perfect

    Best Regards!

Nice! I'm relatively new to Blender (February) and haven't yet tried to do any characters. But I can see how hard it can be to get a convincingly human look.

  6. #106
Your brain is trained to see and analyse the human face...It's gone be hard to make him believe its a real one!

Very Good job! I love eyes, texture and modeling are great. keep going!

    Triying to get it done.
Realistic hair is hard to put in place with the Blender hair system,i wish Blender got an Xgen (Maya) like hair system..Click image for larger version.

The topology around your mouth/nose is a little bit off and is destroying the natural rhyme established by the nasolabial fold What this is doing is making the muzzle of the mouth smaller then it really should be. What I am saying probably sounds abstract and weird so I shall post a paint over when I get to my wacom..

The green lines on the wireframe shot is the route most people usually take with those edge loops. Google for face topology and you will see most people build their topology with the edge loops following those lines. On the face on the right I draw a Reily abstraction. Your current topology destroys that cyan rhythm. That fold is pretty important is it marks the borders of the tooth cylinder and you need it if you want to build facial expressions on your face like smiles or frowns.

I have 500 bad drawings in me before the good ones. And I have 304 to go, here they are.

Really great texturing ! I really want to know your workflow. Are you projecting a texture for the face details ? Is this texturing usable for any kind of face, mouth ?

The links for the shaders don't seem to work...

    Hello guys!

tyrant monkey , TarkanV thanks for the advices. It's go to see people take a close look on my WIP.

I'm gone have to retopo the face.
For the texturing part it's realy basic and fast...the hardest part of it is to find good reference texture and find the good angle of projection. For the skin shader part ,i've switched to the Principled BSDF.
    Subsurface Color 0.4 ; 0.006 ; 0
    Subsurface radius is R:1.8 G:0.9 B:0.7
Then play with the subsurface value, witch is linked to the real size of your object.
For the light i use the addon Blender Light Studio.

This is a serious step up but the ears man, the are seriously not matching the quality of the rest of the face. You are putting in a lot of effort into this and it's really showing.

I admire your dedication. Great stuff!
I think you'd achieved great skin softness in post #112. The updates after that a cool too but I miss that skin quality a bit
