Sculpting problem. Bad quality.

When I sculpted some pillows it worked fine, but when I was going to sculpt the cushion on the sofa it became pixelated and bad quality.

Why is this and how can I fix?

Your mesh has a low vert density. Simple as that. To increase/control vert density:

  • Add more subdivisions to your Multires Modifier
  • Add additional edge loops to your underlying mesh
  • Work in Dyntopo instead of Multires

This is weird, I had added more edge loops to clear out all the rectangles. But now they are back. As soon as I did that and added more subdivisions it seems to be a lot better atleast. What is Dyntopo? I do not see it in my modifier list.

it looks like your mesh isnt smooth shaded or is it?
