Tannhauser Gate

Hi guys,

I’m not really sure if this fits into this Blender forum as I don’t really see 2D/3D mixed art here.
Just tell me if it don’t.

There’s about 20% 3D. I used Blender for the space-ships, the gate towers, and as a rough perspective- and layout-guide for the 2D work, which was done in Photoshop (painting + photo bashing).
This was done for a bi-weekly Pixomondo internal art challenge.

The theme was:
“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time … like tears in rain … time to die.”

this is really cool, although I always pictured the Tannhauser gate being some kind of space station. Still, kudos for using BR as inspiration!

a chill ran over my back, when i red the bladerunnerline. for me the tannhauser gate has been something in space, a stellar nebular or something similar, but i like your interpretation.
