shadow problem


Hi there all,

Can any one help me with this shadow patchs which happened to me many times and i didn’t know how to solve it !!!

why are they appearing??

Could be the famous terminator problem (caused when the mesh has a low amount of polygons).

Add a subsurf modifier and see if that helps.

It is already a a hi tessellated mesh, this happens with me before also in one project and could not know why

Then it would be wise to make sure you don’t have any other geometry overlapping your model (make sure you don’t have a lower-res object overlapping the high-res version for instance).

Also make sure you have the subdivision mode set to ‘catmull clark’ (not ‘simple’).
