Blenrig 5 issue

I’m trying to rig a 3D morty I made using blenrig, and I’m having an issue. Now, this is my first time using blenrig, so it could be a stupid simple fix for all I know
here’s the gif I made showing the issue I’m having

all I have on the arm(s) mesh is the mirror, mesh deform, and subdiv modifiers. In that order, respectively. the cage mesh doesn’t seem to be deforming oddly, but the mesh being controlled by it is.

any idea how I can fix that?

the picture is just for the thumbnail. not important to the topic at hand :stuck_out_tongue:

so no answer after all these months? :stuck_out_tongue:

Have you thought about trying to get answers in the blenrig thread in the latest news section of the forum or posting in the support section

didn’t know that exists O_o
mind directing me to it?

Moved from “Artwork > Works in Progress” to “Support > Animation and Rigging”

You need to put a blend file in here and give us the url to it after you upload it. http://pasteall.org/blend/ It is impossible for us to see what you have done.

Could be the mesh deform.
Could be the weight painting.
Could be the rigging.
Could be the topology.
Could be the settings.
etc, etc.

here’s the link to the blend file: http://pasteall.org/blend/index.php?id=46702
sorry I didn’t reply sooner DX

On your mesh deform, you have told themesh deform to not use cage which is the hand as you defined cage. Therefore it twists the arm, but not the hand. On the armature youhave told the armature modifier to use cage, which is the hand, butnot the arm. You don’t have enough geometry to get them to worktogether and the weight painting doesn’t follow our mesh on either your deform cage or you arm. Your Def bones don’t follow the cage vertex group. Easy solution may be to define your cage vertex group as the whole arm and use that for both. On your mesh deform, turn of the invert. Then do a little weight painting on your arm. Your weight paintingdoesn’t follow your mesh very well, but that’s the price of auto so I spent like five minutes to just rough it in for you. Try this solution and I hope it will work for you. This is the reason I don’t use blendrig on split part.

PS it’s a great rig for animation.
