Micropoligon Displacement - Physics

Hello Blenderartists community!
I´m using the new added feature, Micropoligon Displacement (which is REALLY cool ). I had modeled a ground and did the material. Now I have tried to put an object on top of the ground using Rigid Body activ/passiv. The problem is that the ground will be only displaced while rendering, and my object is stuck in it instead of standing on top of it. Is it possible to put the object exactly on top of the ground?

Thanks all of you beforehand.

I’m having the same issue using the mp displacement, even just hand placing an object on it…

I wonder if there might be some workaround along these lines…

  • Use a non-rendering subsurf modifer+displacement modifier (at a lowish resolution but equivalent displacement settings) before the physics collision modifier, to calculated reasonable collision mesh.

-Then rendering could be just with microdisplacement. Just need to see how hard it is to set up that equivalency between md and disp modifier.

Just an idea, let us know if you try it!
