simple fire render contains completely filled smoke cube

my cube is filled completey with grey noise (smoke?) from 1st render step until last. What did i miss? Looking like grey dust.

Your problem is most likely in the smoke shader. This happens because your node setup gives voxels with no smoke attribute a density value, my first guess would be because you have an “Add” math node somewhere between the density attribute node and the volume scatter node. Use a multiply node instead, that way the voxels with density 0 will stay 0 but you can control the density of the rest of the smoke with the slider.
