I have decided on getting dual 1080 or dual 1070 cards. From all the benchmarks out there, these look almost identical in render time which seems a bit surprising. Anyone have any ideas about why the 1080 doesn’t seem much faster, if any than the 1070?
I’m wondering if there is another limiting factor besides CUDA core count? Also, maybe in future Blender releases, the 1080 render speeds would be faster than the 1070???
Anyway, I’m thinking as it stands the 1070 makes more sense being $600 less expensive for dual cards since the speed and memory is the same. However, if the 1080 ends up being faster in future Blender releases then maybe it wouldn’t be a waste to get the 1080s.
Any thoughts from anyone using these cards?
