Blender freezes when baking incredibly simple and low resolution fluid simulation

I’ve done several fluid simulations before in 2.68, but I finally updated to 2.78 and now I can’t get a fluid simulation to work in a scene I’m working on. I tried to open a new scene and add a simple domain and inflow and it baked fine at the default resolution, but in the scene I’m working on I cannot get it to bake even with a small frame range, low resolution, and nothing but a domain and inflow.

when does it freeze?, I am not sure but freelix2000 sounds like a unix pun right?
I don’t suppose you could say gdb – blender, set a break point and copy the traceback.

I am very ashamed to admit that my name is not, in fact, a pun. This sucks because I love puns and it feels like a missed opportunity. Anyway, I fixed my problem by doing the fluid simulation and baking it in a new project and importing it to the one I was working on.
