Beginning coding: due diligence

Hi all,

I’ve been wanting to get into making Blender add-ons for a while. Recently I’ve changed the type of modeling I’ve been doing, and I’m finding I’d really like the ability to make arrays in arcs and circles without having to use empties (inconvenient) and change the origin of my model (messes up my other modifiers). I’m thinking that a rotating array modifier (something that allows for rotation of each item around its center point and/or another point) would be a good place to start coding. But it’s such an obvious idea, and one I’ve seen requests for, that I thought I’d double check and make sure that my many searches for a plugin like this weren’t fruitless due to an error on my part.

Is this a good idea? Or am I just missing a tool that already exists?

Hi Kobaltkween,

This is a very nice idea! I think it’d help many Blender users.

I too agree this is good idea . keep it up we would like too see completed .
