Need Help with modeling (difficult shape)

I started with blender a couple days ago.
For the beginning i wanted to start with modeling my headphones
but one part of them is impossiple to model correctly
no matter what ive tryed i’m not able to create the desired shape

We’d be able to help if you specified which part. Maybe with a red circle around it.

its the first image its pretty obvious i think

can you get a front picture of the device then use it as a reference background picture

much easier to follow then !

happy bl

You can use proportional editing “O” after modeling the basic shape flat.

Here is an example:

SP].blend (656 KB)

a simple way to do it can be:

Make the shape in 2d, solidify, and give the curvature with a lattice modifier.

Same suggestion as Secrop had, an image of that

thats a very good aproach didn’t thought about that
but how do I get sharp edges like in the image

I have already used two background Images one for the front and another for the side
but thanks for your help as well

I would have attached my .blend file as well but I wasn’t able to find a way to do it.
Is there something I have overlooked or is it just impossible for me to add files because I’m new.

It’s because you’re new. You can post to http://pasteall.org/blend/ it’s free, no login or email required.

Here is my .blend file
http://pasteall.org/blend/index.php?id=45079

Nice idea but i can’t post URLs as well

Oh, okay. Go make a few fanboy “Wow! I like it.” posts over in the Finished Projects forum…
https://blenderartists.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?10-Finished-Projects

You only need 10 posts for the upgrade.

But if you’re using the pasteall.org, you can give us just the index of your file. I’m sure we can figure the rest of the address out.

Here is an Image of the improved model
but I ran into another problem
How to keep the edges sharp when turning on smooth shading?

https://www.blender.org/manual/modeling/meshes/editing/smoothing.html#auto-smooth

I used an EdgeSplit Modifier
now the edges are sharp but the corners are till smooth
and im not able to fix it

Put a loop cut, Ctrl-R around it, near the end, and slide it up as close as you can, without touching. I think they refer to it as a Supporting Edge. It’s the general method of defining sharp edges with subsurf; edges close together hold their shape.

EDIT: In actuality, it can touch, but then you’ve got to have the subsurf turned on in order to get a hold of it again.

I used this before but i wasn’t satisfied because i wanted the corners to be as sharp as the edges

EDIT: I tried it again this time it worked almost perfectly I forgot to add edge loops on both axis

Just to point out another option:
You can control the sharpness of edges via the Mean crease value in N-Panel.

could you add a screenshot please I’m not able to find the option

here is my first attempt to add some textures it looks horrible
because I haven’t used uv-maps so far
and some textures aren’t seamless
But not bad for my first attempt I guess.
