AdamTM - Sketchbook

Up until recently i was not sure if to start one of these, as updates would be really slow and irregular, but what the hell why not.

I’ll dump some art here shortly in separate posts.

Have some abstract nested cubes first.

A Jar of jello.
I saw someone doing one on Polycount and tried to recreate it quickly.

Abstract seamless dual 4K monitor wallpaper I did for my new workstation as a performance benchmark.

Lowpoly datacenter infrastructure scene for an internal presentation (accurate to location and layout).

Oily glowing puddle.
Mainly SSS and volumetrics testing with a bit of fun with sculpt brushes.

Spaceship in space
Made to see how good an artwork i can complete in under 30 minutes.

These all look nice so far, the only critique is that you might need a very high ray depth for images like the jar (to minimize or eliminate dark areas).

Don’t worry if you think you won’t be able to update the thread often (the auto-lock doesn’t kick in unless there’s been no posts for over a year).

I’ve been playing around with hair particles this morning to see what else other than hair they could be used for.

Turns out they make decent balls of yarn.

Or noodles/spaghetti

Really unhappy with that noodle material but it gets the point across.
If i had the resources i could turn up the subdivisions higher to make it look more natural but my machine at home isnt made for this.

Its cool how quickly you can set this stuff up to look good with cycles hair rendering.

I like this because it looks like something out of a horror movie.
