adjusting mesh and curve modifier

After many attempts at editing the bezier curve to get the mesh to line up, I could not do it successfully. See the green marker.


Is there a way to easily align the two vertical halves using the bezier curve in the curve modifier?

This is the hinge bracket that I am attempting to replicate.


Notice the “clean” semicircular notches in the middle where the 90-degree bends occur. The 90-degree bends are gradual and not sharp.

finalbarrage, your video is chock-full of great explanations and utilizes an extremely helpful modeling methodology. Using subdivision surface modifier seems to be a more effective way to get the gradually-curved look at the 90-degree bends than is using the solidify modifier.
